Chez Shaye Cabaret

A magical thing happened years ago. Friend opens bar. Friend wants live music. Separate friend suggests a piano cabaret night with yours truly in the mix. It was that fast that I became an Emcee. I hadn’t any idea that I would love it to the core, but I guess after seven years of sketch comedy, it makes perfect sense. Almost seven years ago and a couple of whiskies in Brooklyn later, Starr Bar’s Major/Minor Variety Cabaret took off. Each show is unique, with performers of all kinds: singers, comedians, instrumentalists, dancers—VARIETY. The ridiculously incredible piano man, Mitch Marcus, backs us all up. Since then, the cabaret has expanded, bringing the variety model to festivals and weddings. You never know what your going to get, and it’s magic.
